Michel Henri
Heritage & Excellence

This new range pays tribute to the two visionary founders of Cave Ardévaz:
Henri and Michel Boven.

Henri, a passionate and hardworking man, created Cave Ardévaz with the ambition of giving a strong identity to the wines produced from his Valais vineyards.

His son Michel, a graduate of the Changins School of Oenology, later developed the estate by opening the door to innovation: diversification of grape varieties, creation of emblematic and visionary cuvées. An exceptional winemaker, he earned significant national recognition, including the title of Swiss Winemaker of the Year in 2004.

Collection Presentation

The Michel Henri collection celebrates our family heritage and the art of winemaking in Valais. These rare cuvées, crafted from a meticulous selection and patiently matured, express the full finesse and depth of our terroir.

MICHEL HENRI – Petite Arvine – AOC VALAIS

Appearance & Nose
An exceptional wine with an elegant character. Its colour already hints at its potential — a prelude to a refined sensory experience.

Flavours & Palate
A delicate, vibrant aromatic profile: citrus, rhubarb and passion fruit subtly intertwine with vanilla notes brought by expert fermentation in foudre, a beautiful oak cask. The natural acidity of Petite Arvine is perfectly balanced, never overshadowed by the wood — just enough to reveal the wine’s depth and ageing potential.

Crafting & Ageing
Sourced from the estate’s finest Petite Arvine parcel, each cluster is carefully selected. Vineyard work is meticulous, keeping only the most beautiful grapes and allowing them to reach optimal ripeness, recognisable by their golden and orange hues. In the cellar, Rodolphe and John work with passion — the vinification enhances aromatic richness, reveals the salinity of the terroir, and preserves the purity of the fruit.

Pairings & Occasions
This Valais treasure captivates with its finesse and depth. It can be enjoyed now, yet promises a beautiful evolution in the cellar. Perfect for exceptional moments where sharing and conviviality take on an elegant dimension. It pairs wonderfully with perch fillets, sole meunière, salmon steak, and is a favourite match with Belon oysters as an apéritif.

MICHEL HENRI – Syrah Vieilles Vignes – AOC VALAIS

Appearance & Nose
Its deep red colour with violet highlights immediately draws the eye. The nose opens with an intense, captivating aromatic palette: spicy notes of pepper and clove blend harmoniously with mineral touches and hints of tobacco and cigar. A complex, powerful bouquet that seduces from the very first moment.

Flavours & Palate
On the palate, this Syrah reveals its full richness as the tasting unfolds. Ageing in foudre brings structure and depth, subtly integrating elegant tannins. The peppery notes intertwine with finesse, offering an intense and perfectly balanced tasting experience.

Crafting & Ageing
Only the finest Syrah grapes from our estate are selected for this rare cuvée. Carefully chosen, they are vinified with precision before being patiently aged in foudre for 24 months. This long maturation reveals the wine’s character, expresses the full nobility of this Valais Syrah, and softens its tannins.

Pairings & Occasions
Produced in limited quantities, this prestigious wine is meant for exceptional moments. It pairs beautifully with festive meals, intimate evenings or grand celebrations, bringing elegance and intensity to every shared occasion. A favourite pairing: characterful game meats such as chamois or venison.

MICHEL HENRI – Ardévine – AOC VALAIS

Appearance & Nose
Ardévine captivates from the very first nose with its power and complexity. Spicy and smoky notes intertwine with aromas of basil, fresh wood and prunes, lifted by a hint of mint. An enchanting, rich and profound bouquet that invites immediate tasting.

Flavours & Palate
On the palate, the balance is remarkable: generous roundness, an elegant structure, and a long finish where the aromas of the bouquet blend harmoniously. This blend reveals a unique aromatic complexity, leaving an unforgettable impression.

Crafting & Ageing
Born in 1991 from the vision of Michel Boven, Ardévine is one of the first high‑end barrel‑aged blends in Valais. Carefully matured in barrels for 12 months, it results from a blend of four grape varieties — the exact composition remains secret, passed down from generation to generation.

Pairings & Occasions
An ideal companion for gastronomic meals, Ardévine brings elegance and character to the table. More than an exceptional wine, it embodies the story of a family of winemakers and a precious savoir‑faire preserved with passion. It pairs beautifully with fondue glareyarde or dry‑aged meats on the bone.
